CHET FAKER
In 2011, Nicholas Murphy recorded a cover of No Diggity late one night just for his friends. Shared by a handful of people, the song spread like wildfire until reaching #1 on the indie blog charts Hype Machine, and so the Chet Faker identity was born - an ode to Chet Baker's singing style but incorporating the influence of a youth spent producing house and disco.
Soon after, his debut EP Thinking In Textures was released on Opulent / Remote Control in Australia, Chess Club Records in the UK and Downtown Records in the USA, to widespread acclaim.
Chet went on to sell out two tours across Australia, before taking off to the UK to perform at The Great Escape Festival with sold out shows in London. Meanwhile, his debut EP picked up spins from Gilles Petersen, Mary Anne Hobbs, Huw Stephens, Rob da Bank and was featured in Zane Lowe's 'Next Hype' section.
Chet has since played at the Sydney Opera House as part of the Vivid Live Festival, toured Europe with The Temper Trap and played at the tastemaker Australian event, Meredith Music Festival.
Chet Faker was nominated for five Jagermeister Independent Music Awards, winning for Best Independent Single/EP and Breakthrough Independent Artist. He was also nominated for two Rolling Stone Awards for Best New Talent and Best Independent Release, winning Best Independent Release.
Recently, Chet Faker collaborated with fellow Australian up-and-comer Flume on the track Left Alone, which has been playlisted on BBC6, receiving support from Annie Mac and Gilles Petersen, and featured on DummyMag, Complex and Prefix Magazine.

PRINCESS CHELSEA
Princess Chelsea is the recording project of New Zealand based composer, Chelsea Nikkel.
Nikkel studied classical piano throughout her childhood as well as dabbling in drums, guitar and clarinet. While at high school she discovered her love of composition - writing and recording her first song “Monkey Eats Bananas”.
After leaving high school she formed Auckland band Teen Wolf, with friends Vincent Lum and Brad Fafejta. Teen Wolf combined Nikkel's classically driven keyboard lines with the frenetic energy of garage punk.
Nikkel is associated with a pop collective centered around her New Zealand based label ‘Lil Chief Records’ (The Brunettes, Ruby Suns). She has toured as a live member of The Brunettes and currently plays the role of Linda in the label’s own Paul McCartney / Wings tribute band ‘Disciples of Macca’.
Nikkel has spent the better part of her twenties developing her production and engineering skills and the result is her debut ‘Lil' Golden Book’ - a home experiment that has been called "a triumph of high concept production".

YOUNGBLOOD BRASS BAND
Youngblood Brass Band destroys convention. They are focused on creating consistently progressive, acoustic, groundbreaking music, employing whatever sonic means necessary to do so. This ninemember ensemble hails from all over these sprawled United States (Madison, WI / New York, NY / San Francisco, CA / Chicago, IL) and sound absolutely focused on unleashing new music to the rest of the world.
To that aim, they have been touring throughout Europe and the United States for the past five years. Having performed in over a dozen countries and at some of the most prestigious music festivals
– Roskilde, Lowlands, Pukkelpop, Glastonbury, Womad, etc.
– don’t expect the band to slow down now. Their breathtaking
concerts secured their status as an incredible group to see live whether it’s in an intimate small club setting or an international festival stage.
Their debut album Unlearn was independently released in 2000 and featured collaborations with rapper Talib Kweli (which spawned the underground smash single “Ya’ll Stay Up”), Mike Ladd, DJ Skooly and ex-Frank Zappa vocalist Ike Willis. The attention garnered from the album lead to a record deal with Ozone Music (NYC), the revolutionary avant-hiphop label that introduced the poetic talents and radical aims of Company Flow (El-P), Mike Ladd, Antipop Consortium, Mr. Lif and Saul Williams among others.
Their highly anticipated follow-up in 2003
Center:Level:Roar was released to international acclaim and had them trekking around the globe to nearly sold out audiences everywhere.
YoungBlood are now primed for an even bigger stage with the launch of their record label Layered Music who have signed an international distribution deal through All City/PIAS. Layered Music is a division of their founded Layered Arts Collective based in Madison, Wisconsin and Brooklyn, New York.
This organization functions as an independent record label, literature and sheet music publishing company, recording studio and forum for like-minded artists, students and educators working together to build a community focused on igniting the local and global populace with arts
and education related opportunities. They have been dedicated to this work for years, and songs from the YoungBlood catalogue will now be available as marching and big band arrangement through Warner Bros. Publications.
With a brand new record label, flourishing local arts
collective, DIY punk aesthetic, worldwide educational aim,
incredible stage performances and plenty of raging
ambition, YoungBlood Brass Band is poised to become a
torch-bearer for a new kind of artist – one implanted in schools around the world by the good grace of public radio (their NPR appearance in 2004 is already the stuff of media legend) and held in high regard by new music aficionados the world over.
We will do what we must.

Danny Brown, is an American hip hop recording artist from Detroit, Michigan. Brown is known for his individuality, being described by MTV as "one of rap's most unique figures in recent memory." His 2011 album XXX, released for free online, received critical acclaim, earning him such accolades as Spin's #1 hip hop album of the year and Metro Times's "Artist of the Year"
https://soundcloud.com/foolsgoldrecs/sets/danny-brown-xxx
On XXX, DB remains an open book. He contemplates his fate on "Die Like a Rockstar," shouting the names of deceased celebrities like River Phoenix, Brittany Murphy and Heath Ledger. "Pac Blood" finds Brown rapping over a sample of Bob James' classic "Nautilus," and on "Lie4," he bucks standard rap fare by freely admitting his financial woes.
Danny Brown is certainly one of rap's most unique figures in recent memory, which can also be a disadvantage. In 2010, Brown befriended G-Unit rapper Tony Yayo, and together they recorded their collaborative Hawaiian Snow mixtape. The G-Unit association led many to wonder if Brown would eventually sign with 50's crew. But Brown, who favors fitted jeans and a vintage rock-inspired wardrobe, didn't fit the part of G-Unit soldier.
"It was a real thing. 50 was with it; he just didn't sign me because of my jeans. He liked the music, but he didn't like the way I looked," Danny said. "I understand where they were coming from with that, but you gotta understand where I'm coming from too: I'm from Detroit."
Danny Brown was born Daniel Dewan Sewell on March 16, 1981 in Detroit, Michigan. He was born to relatively young parents; his mother was 18, while his father, who is half Filipino, was 16. Brown's talent for rhyming came at a very young age as his mother would read Dr. Seuss books to him as a child. So when he started to speak, he would talk in rhyme. His father was a house DJ and was 16 years-old when Brown was born. He exposed Danny to all the music he would spin as well as music from the likes of Roy Ayers, LL Cool J, and A Tribe Called Quest. Danny Brown always wanted to be a rapper: "In kindergarten I'd say I wanted to be a rapper and people'd just laugh at me. 'That's a pretty funny job,' they'd say

You know all those times when a friend, magazine or so-called-expert has implored you to buy a new band's CD because it’s ‘Free-meets-the-Black Crowes-meets-the-Stones' and you think, quite rightly, “That sounds splendid! What could possibly go wrong?” So, you buy it, take it home, play it and it sounds like tosh?
Yeah, well this is not one of those times. This is the story of The Temperance Movement: five guys, four of them in London, one in Scotland. In short, they rock. Big, sweaty, old-school, sincere rock. But, like all the best rock bands, they roll too. They have a swagger, a bravado. Soul.
This is a band that merges two highly valuable commodities: riff driven blues based rock and seriously impressive – nay, spellbinding - musicality. Sure, it’s been a long time coming but, thank god, they’ve finally arrived.
Says Damon: "People are loving our stuff. Older people are getting the influences - Free, The Band, Peter Green’s Fleetwood Mac, The Stones - and the younger crowd, they just think it's a Black Keys slash Jack White kind of vibe. They can see it's real and they get off on that."
So, this band knows how to rock but still produce music that is crafted and thoughtful, sun-kissed with extraordinary arrangements and breathtaking musical dog-fights. This is a band operating ahead of their years with room to spare.Find out more about The Temperance Movement, watch videos, purchase the 'Pride' EP and listen to new tracks at: http://www.thetemperancemovement.com/

Still only in his early 20s, Matt Corby’s songs and vocals elicit a sensation that is nothing short of captivating. Having previously been compared to legendary artists such as Nick Drake and Jeff Buckley, Matt’s songs continue to deliver a uniqueness and maturity well beyond his years while his live performances have become renowned for bringing large audiences to a complete stand still.
In 2009, he independently released his debut EP ‘Song For...’ before relocating to London and signing with renowned UK indie label Communion after capturing the attention of the label’s owner; Ben Lovett of Mumford and Sons fame.
After recording with Ian Grimble (The Libertines, Seasick Steve) and releasing his hauntingly beautiful EP, Transition To Colour in late 2010, Matt has been busy engaging audiences with his live shows. 2011 saw him playing sold out shows in London and showcasing at SXSW in Austin, Texas before coming back to Australia to play a string of intimate “Secret Garden” shows in fans’ backyards. He soon after joined UK band Elbow as the main support on their national tour of sold out Splendour sideshows in July.
His recently released EP, Into The Flame, with producer Tim Carr (Ernest Ellis, Jonathan Boulet) showcases a fresh injection of soulful growling vocals and bluesy melodies bound together with his already unique style of melodic folk. Lyrically raw and endearingly honest, his songs take the listener through an introspective and heartfelt journey. The EP also features a duet with Matt’s dear friend and keyboardist Bree Tranter, previously of Australian band, The Middle East.

ULRICH SCHNAUSS
Ulrich Schnauss was born in the northern German town of Kiel in 1977. During his formative years, he came to love a wide spectrum of music, ranging from My Bloody Valentine to Tangerine Dream, from Chapterhouse to early bleep and breakbeat tracks. There was not much opportunity to see his musical heroes in Kiel, so he moved to Berlin in 1996.
By that time, Ulrich was already a prolific musician in such genres as ambient and drum and bass, with a variety of pseudonyms (most notably View to the Future and Ethereal 77). These earlier works soon caught the eye of Berlin electronica label CCO (City Centre Offices), who took him up.
Soon his submissions to CCO developed into Ulrich’s first album under his own name, entitled Far Away Trains Passing By. It became an electronic classic; listeners were smitten with the lush instrumentation and the emotional impact of his elegant music.
Yet nothing could prepare his growing army of supporters for the next record, A Strangely Isolated Place, which slowly came together in 2001. The album truly displayed Ulrich’s youthful indie influences and established his pedigree as an outstanding electronic composer. A Strangely Isolated Place has become one of those extraordinary and rare occurrences: a record that slowly grows in stature by virtue of its overriding ability to deliver more than the usual arid and academic treatises on the state of the synthesizer.
“When you’ve worked with computers and keyboards for a number of years, they become not so fascinating of themselves anymore,” he said. “I gained in confidence after people began to discover Faraway Trains, and it hasn’t really stopped since then. This time I decided not to compromise on what I wanted to do, with what I thought people might want me to do.”

Emma Louise Niblett (born 29 September 1973) is a British singer-songwriter, known by the pseudonym Scout Niblett. Her music is frequently minimalist in style, many of her songs consisting merely of vocals accompanied by either drums or guitar, which she mostly plays herself. She is known for her intimate live shows and her blond wig while performing. She is currently living in the United States, where she has worked with the influential producer Steve Albini.
Niblett grew up in Nottingham, England and chose her stage name in honour of Jean Louise “Scout” Finch, the protagonist in Harper Lee’s 1960 novel To Kill a Mockingbird. She studied music and performance art at college, and also expresses an interest in astrology—explaining the title of her 2005 LP Kidnapped by Neptune, she says, “Neptune is this planet that everyone has in their chart. But for me, where Neptune is right now and has been for the past two years has been affecting my chart in a huge way. Neptune is kind of the musicians’ planet, it rules music.”
Niblett has released three LPs, through the Secretly Canadian record company in North America and through Too Pure in the United Kingdom. Her first release was a split 7” single with Songs: Ohia in 2001. Shortly after this she released her first LP Sweet Heart Fever, recorded in Glasgow with drummer Kristian Goddard.

The Black Angels are a psychedelic rock band from Austin, Texas, formed in May 2004. Their name derives from the Velvet Underground song “The Black Angel’s Death Song”. The band consists of Alex Maas (vocals, guitar), Christian Bland (guitar), Kyle Hunt (keyboards), Nate Ryan (bass) and Stephanie Bailey (drums).
Hannah Levin’s review of the Black Angels album, Passover, described them as “Walking in the shadows cast by Spacemen 3 and Spiritualized mastermind Jason Pierce” and compared them to The Warlocks and Black Mountain, also invoking “dirges” reminiscent of both The Velvet Underground and the 13th Floor Elevators. The band’s icon is a stylized image of Nico.
In December 2007, the group announced on their blog that their second album would be released in Spring of 2008. In March 2008 a release date of May 13th was announced for their second album, Directions to See a Ghost. Their third album was “Phosphene Dream” released in 2010. This record is slowly starting to give Black Angels international recognition.

Half Moon Run is a talented young trio from Ottawa, Ontario and Comox, British Columbia. It was in a studio situated in Montreal’s Mile-End district, through the hardships of time constraints and flatlined bank accounts, that the trio bonded and created their unique sound, fusing together the restless elements of indie, pop and folk with beautiful rhythmic harmonies, delicate guitar lines and a hint of warm electronica.
Aged 21-25 years old, but armed with solid training and raw talent, they mix and combine their different musical backgrounds. Their complex arrangements, inspired by both classical and modern composers, are particularly surprising to hear and see during their live shows. Devon Portielje’s remarkable voice is beautifully backed up by Connor Molander and Dylan Phillips. Phillips often plays drums and keys simultaneously as Molander and Portielje shuffle between guitar, keys, samplers, and percussion folky three-part harmonies hold down moody, psychedelic arrangements and electronic-infused soundscapes.
Although together for less than two years, the band has quickly caught the ear of programmers and tastemakers. The trio wowed audiences at SXSW, CMW, M for Montreal and Great Escape, and were proclaimed "Buzz Kings Of The (M for Montreal) Festival" by NME.

MS MR
OIB are delighted to be bringing one of our absolute highlights of this years SXSW. Very very excited to be bringing this act to Brighton.
So far, everything they have to "say" has been compressed into the three-minute video for their first "official" single, Hurricane. It is a super-fast-cut tumble of Tumblr-age imagery to eclipse Lana Del Ray's one for Video Games, revealing pop culture savvy (not to mention a nostalgic bent that suggests they will promptly be buying shares in Instagram – the app that makes every pic you take look like 1977 – if they haven't done so already).
Are Ms Mr potentially the first superstars of chillwave? They are steeped in the ethos and ideas of the era, even if their music is more sweetly strident and, dare we say, commercial than, for example, Toro Y Moi's Freak Love, which, much as we love it, was never going to sell as many copies as Adele's Rolling in the Deep. No, this could be very big indeed, and could see Ms Mr step out of the "pages" of Pitchfork, capitalise on their No 1-on-HypeMachine status and enter the wider world.
In a way, Ms Mr are the first US response to the British "mystery girls", an atypical American take on Flo et al's epic gloom. Still, the mood may be twilit (she even sings about "the darkness in my heart" and "the inner workings of my mind" in case we thought this was Little Mix) and the references esoteric, but the production is polished and the potential reach is vast, which we would have said even if we didn't know that they've just signed to Sony in the States and are about to tour there with Marina and the Diamonds.
In terms of fuss and excitement, they might not quite be the full LDR, but certainly you should expect Ms Mr to breach Wild Belle or Haim levels of hype this summer.

Previously signed to Hydra Head Records (which is owned and operated by Aaron Turner of Isis), Pelican is now part of the Southern Lord Records roster.

One Inch Badge Presents:
FRIENDS
+
NO CEREMONY
Driven by percussive grooves and flirtatious vocals, Brooklyn's Friends find a modern middle ground between post-disco and '60s girl group sounds. Fronted by Samantha Urbani and Lesley Hann, the band began as an extension of Urbani's home recordings, made with drum loops and effects-laden vocal tracks, something she'd done for years but kept to herself due to stage fright. Wanting to get the songs out of her system, in 2010 she began sharing them with friends -- among them, future groupmates Matthew Molnar and Nikki Shapiro -- while she traveled to Berlin for the summer.
A twist of city-living fate (bedbugs) led to Hann and friend Oliver Duncan staying at Urbani's place for a spell, and within a week of sharing her demos with the pair, the band was born. Playing a steady stream of shows through 2010 and into 2011, Friends ranked in the NME's Best New Bands list and signed to the Lucky Number label, where they released three singles and, in June of 2012, their full-length debut, Manifest! The album was co-released by Fat Possum and featured all the previously issued singles.

WARM SODA
"Perfecting the blend of glitter of grime that earned Bare Wires a soft spot in the hearts of the bubblegum-popping, foot-stomping masses, Matthew Melton joins with bassist Chase Asmussen, guitarist Rob Good, and drummer Ian McBrayer as Warm Soda. With their debut LP, Someone For You, the outfit charts the familiar territory of power pop, glam, and punk, but with a decidedly more confident stride. The twelve resulting songs smack of sugar but sate an appetite that craves more than something sweet, their initial taste of preeminently listenable simplicity giving way to a lingering flavor of their compositional complexity. The group continues to cook up universally palatable jams out of Melton’s Fuzz City Studios in Oakland, CA, and plans to take them on the road this year, cruising America’s historic highways in the spring and crossing the Atlantic for a European tour before summer’s end"

Brighton folk‐rockers Levellers have long been and still are, one of the best live bands around. Having headlined numerous festivals throughout their illustrious career including the main Pyramid Stage at Glastonbury (for which the Levellers are credited as having Glastonbury’s biggest EVER audience watching) and still to this day headlining their own annual (always sold‐out) festival ‘BeautifulDays", Levellers are with out a doubt not only Brighton heroes but music industry legends. Alongside their countless live successes, Levellers back catalogue of recorded music is breathtaking, infact Levellers sold more platinum, gold, and silver albums in the 1990s than any other act, just think about that for a moment! Their platinum‐selling 1991 album Levelling The Land is still widely regarded as an absolute masterpiece and includes the hits ‘OneWay’, ‘Riverflow’, ‘TheGame’, ‘Far From Home’and ‘Liberty Song’.
While still regarded as Brighton’s most successful band of all‐time, Levellers rarely perform in their hometown. This show at St Bartholomew’s Church on 19th July 2013 marks a rare and highly sought‐after occasion, a true celebration of a historic act still showing everyone how it’s done.
May 5th 2013 will also see the release of some new material in the form of a five‐ track anti‐war EP featuring an all‐new recording of ‘The Recruiting Sergeant’ (featuring special guests). The original version, which is an anti‐war song not an anti‐ soldier song, features on their 10th studio album ‘Static on the Airwaves’ which was released to critical acclaim in 2012.
“This affirmative and emboldened revival by the alt-rock rebelsis a career best." - Daily Mirror4/5
"The Levellers album to silence thecritics and repay the faithful is here‐tune in." - Classic Rock8/10
This new recording of ‘The Recruiting Sergeant’ features traditional English folk singers The Copper Family, plus Shona Kipling and Dan Walsh and was mixed by Matt Lawrence (Mumford & Sons, Grinderman, EmileSande, Bat For Lashes).

Akron/Family are one of those exasperatingly unknowable bands. They've concocted an image, all right -- check out their MySpace page or the Young God Records one, and you will quickly be advised that they are "extremely nice, sincere and well-mannered young men from rural America who came to New York City in 2002 to make music." But other than that and the occasional unfounded rumor that they practice a made-up cultish religion called AK (pronounced "ack"), the only way to know these apparently affable twenty-something fellows -- the original lineup consisting of vocalist/multi-instrumentalist Seth Olinsky, from Williamsport, PA; vocalist/multi-instrumentalist Miles Seaton, from Porterville, CA; vocalist/multi-instrumentalist Dana Janssen, from Williamsport, PA; and lead vocalist/multi-instrumentalist Ryan Vanderhoof, from Union Springs, NY -- is through their music, which falls squarely into the freak folk category launched, in the minds of the popular culture anyway, single-handedly by Devendra Banhart.

DINOSAUR PILE UP

Dinosaur Pile Up
Dinosaur Pile-Up formed after Matt Bigland's old band Mother Vulpine split up back in 2007. Matt had been creating songs used for Dinosaur Pile-Up whilst he was in Mother Vulpine. Matt recorded a demo tape consisting of the songs "My Rock 'n' Roll", "Love Is a Boat and We're Sinking", "Melanin", "Let's Get Up", "What Howard Said" and "I Get My Direction" whilst he was still in Mother Vulpine. A short time later, after Mother Vulpine broke up, Matt recruited Tom Dunford on bass and Steve Wilson on drums to complete the line up.
Matt Bigland has said he thought of the name 'Dinosaur Pile-Up' after watching the 2005 film King Kong. Matt Bigland has said in an interview; "I watched the remake of King Kong. Which was pretty bad! It was ages ago, before this band, or even the idea of this band ever existed. Anyway, there was this part in it where this stampede of dinosaurs, the front one is shot in the leg or something, and it trips up, and then all these huge dinosaurs trip up, roll down this hill, and it just ends up in this massive pile up, and everything in between them survives. I thought it was ridiculous, and as a joke I said, I have to start a band called Dinosaur Pile-Up
They have listed alternative rock bands like Foo Fighters, Weezer, Nirvana, The Smashing Pumpkins and Pavement, rock acts from the 60s like The Beach Boys and The Beatles, and metal groups such as Slayer and Deftones as influences. They are also often compared with the Seattle grunge scene of the early 90s.

YOUTH LAGOON
Delighted to welcome one of our all time office favourites to Brighton! This will be YL's ONLY headline show in the South East.
Trevor Powers, whose stage name is Youth Lagoon, began writing his debut albumThe Year of Hibernation in 2010. Based around the idea of psychological dysphoria, Powers tried to document the trailsof his mind through songs of minimalism and hypnotic ambiance. Powers later described his writing process as "my mind communicating with me, not the other way around...it can take me to scary places but I've realized those bizarre thoughts I have don't define me." After signing with Mississippi-based label Fat Possum Records in 2011, he toued much of the following year before going back into solitude to write.
Wondrous Bughouse, Powers' sophomore album (due March 5 worldwide via Fat Possum), was spawned from what he describes as "becoming more fascinated with the human psyche and where the spiritual meets the physical world." During the time he wrote, Powers became intrigued with the metaphysical universe and blending those ideas with pop music.
"Youth Lagoon is something so personal to me because writing music is how I sort my thoughts, as well as where I transfer my fears," explains Powers.
"My mental state is usually pretty sporadic...a lot of this record was influenced by a fear of mortality but embracing it at the same time. Realizing that human life is only great because it is temporary. Experimenting with ideas about dimensions. I'm not a gifted speaker, so explaining things is difficult for me. But music always makes sense

MOON DUO
Starting life as a side project for Ripley Johnsons psychedelic drone machine Wooden Shjips, Moon Duo was a vehicle for Johnson and his partner Sanae Yamada to explore the grittier end of the endlessly repetitive space rock spectrum. But with a handful of EP's and an acclaimed album, 'Mazes' behind them the pair now seem to have the edge on their wooden mothershjip. Like its predecessor, the title of 'Circles' gives you some idea of the territory we're in here. Lost in the badlands without a map, Moon Duo's desert rock takes a wrong turn and ends up on the Greyhound to NYC, where Silver Apples lend them an oscillator and Suicide provide the beat with a pawn shop drum machine. San Francisco breathes through them still as their muscle memory teaches them deadhead jams that loops around and around and around ('I Been Gone' and 'Rolling Out'), but the joyous insanity of garage rock shines through (the 'Nuggets'-ish 'Sparks' and 'Circles'.) Deliciously deranged.

BROKEN HANDS
+ Storms
Treading the line between psychedelic and blues-rock, Jamie Darby (guitar), Thomas Ford (bass) and brothers Callum (drums) and Dale Norton (vocals) make up Canterbury’s young quartet, Broken Hands.
Thick bass lines accompany contagious guitar hooks, forging a sound that grabs you forcibly by the pelvic region, keeping a firm grasp until the final note and leaving you gasping for more.
The roots of R&B run strong in the Kent rockers, but dare to call what they do ‘classic’ rock and they’ll scoff politely: these are contemporary songs, culled from countless sessions in their basement rehearsal space.
'Hands began cutting their teeth at self-organised shows in Canterbury before recording debut single ‘Brother’ – produced and released by Edwyn Collins. This prompted successful UK and European tours with Band of Skulls, Deaf Club and Kill It Kid respectively.
A productive summer in 2012 saw the band release 7” ‘If You Need To Lie” and play sell-out headline shows both at home and in London before making a number of festival appearances including T In The Park, Rockness, Dot-to-Dot and Live at Leeds.
Kicking off 2013 playing alongside Palma Violets, the band are now in the studio working on new material.

CRYSTAL FIGHTERS
It is to Crystal Fighters’ eternal credit that from such esoteric raw material they have managed to fashion a supremely accessible dance album, full of irresistible rhythms, anthemic melodies and chant-worthy choruses. Star Of Love – which was assembled over a year from a number of musical ideas, beats, chords and lyrics, many of which were developed as part of their experimental and explosive live show - features 11 of the most gloriously tuneful, exotic and euphoric songs released in 2010. The fact that it can be enjoyed as a bunch of club bangers as well as a series of explorations of the themes of love and hate, insanity and death, confusion and hope, can only enhance its appeal.

MINDLESS SELF INDULGENCE
+ Support
Mindless Self Indulgence (or MSI) is an American industrial rock band that found its origin in New York City, NY in 1997. The current lineup is Jimmy Urine (vocals), Steve Righ? (guitar), Lyn-Z (bass) and Kitty (drums). Though considered electropunk, they are heavily influenced by jungle, industrial, electronic dance music, and hip-hop. Intentionally iconoclastic, James Euringer (who uses the stage name [bandmember from=1997] Little Jimmy Urine) owes sartorial influence to the New York Dolls, wearing fishnet shirts at concerts, and is occasionally seen in shorts or pants with the inside cut out similar to how a skirt looks, and neon stockings.
The band’s energetic live shows have gained them much recognition. The band is known to stay after the show has finished, signing whatever fans want until not one person is left wanting an autograph. They also take photographs with all desiring fans. They have opened for a number of popular bands, including System of a Down, Korn, Staind, Sum 41, Mushroomhead, Insane Clown Posse, My Chemical Romance, and Rammstein. They have also played many large musical festivals including Voodoo Music Experience in New Orleans in October of 2003 (and in Memphis, TN after Hurricane Katrina in 2006), as well as headlining the Mojave tent at the 2004 Coachella Festival, and the main stage of 2007’s Give It A Name. They also headlined the second stage of the Projekt Revolution tour in Summer 2007.

WOE IS ME
Woe, Is Me are a metalcore band formed in Atlanta, GA in 2009. The band is currently signed to Rise Records and its subsidiary, Velocity Records. Their debut full-length album, Numbers, was released on August 31, 2010 and charted at #16 on Billboard’s Top Heatseekers.
The original lineup consisted of Austin Thornton, Kevin Hanson, and Tim Sherrill with Cory Ferris and Ben Ferris. These members recruited vocalists Michael Bohn and Tyler Carter for unclean and clean vocals, respectively.
The band recorded a three-song demo with producer Cameron Mizell containing the songs “Hell, Or High Water,” “I.,” and “If Not, for Ourselves,” which were uploaded to their MySpace profile. They also recorded and released a cover of “TiK ToK.” The Artery Foundation took notice and Rise/Velocity Records signed the band before they even played their first show. They recorded their album during the same month that they were signed.
The band’s first tour was on the Pyknic pArtery Tour in the summer of 2010, headlined by Drop Dead, Gorgeous and shared with From First To Last, Attila, Sleeping with Sirens, Abandon All Ships, For All Those Sleeping, and Scarlett O’Hara.
Tyler Carter’s soul-influenced clean vocals has garnered him comparisons to Jonny Craig, who also provided guest vocals on their album. The band went on a Canadian tour supporting Abandon All Ships in October of 2010 as well as the Average Guys With Exceptional Hair Tour across America, presented by MerchNow.com, in November with A Skylit Drive, Motionless In White, Scarlett O’Hara, and For All Those Sleeping.
