Quickly following 2008's critically acclaimed mini-album 'Don't Get Lost or Hurt' on OIB Records, LONELY GHOSTS offer up the new double A-side 7inch and digital single COME DOWN FROM THE MOUNTAIN / GHOSTS OF MICE on SEPTEMBER 28th. Four completely new recordings which are a first glimpse at the astonishing new full-length album 'Return from the Search Party' which is due out September 28th.

 

The two lead tracks from the single showcase some of the disparate sides to the newly developed and experimental Lonely Ghosts sound. 'Come Down from the Mountain' is a classic slice of modern left-field pop, layering sweeping string sounds and interweaving guitars and harmonies with emotive vocals and 808 beats, while 'Ghosts of Mice' is a restrained and haunting slice of near-perfect woozy kraut-pop.

 

 

This double A-side single also comes with two brand new B-sides which are exclusive to this one off 7inch release. 'Forever Distortion' and 'Game Faces On' are both reflections of Lonely Ghosts darker, more fragile side that perfectly compliment the two A-side tracks and make this 7" single a more cohesive and stand-alone release than your average 'single'.

Lonely Ghosts - Ghosts of Mice 'Come Down from the Mountain / Ghosts of Mice' is a split label release with 'Buyyourself'

 

 

 

LONELY GHOSTS is the alter-ego of Brighton musician Tom Denney. Since 2006 he has used this guise to explore what he considers to be 'pop' music, in whatever shape or form it may take. From his home studio he creates an eclectic mix of songs blending a number of different sounds and styles, including casio-pop, moody synth-scapes shoegaze guitar drones, woozy harmonies, post-punk, electronica/hip hop drum beats and emotive vocals.

 

Lonely Ghosts came into being while Tom was still playing with his old band, indie-noise heroes Help She Can't Swim, and has come into its own since their split in 2008. Lonely Ghosts maintains elements that will be recognizable to those familiar to with HSCS's sound, but with a much broader scope in instrumentation and style. The release of 2008's well received debut mini-album, 'Don't Get Lost Or Hurt', cemented Lonely Ghosts as much more than a side-project and Denney's pop songwriting knack.
